GIRLS TENNIS

Mike Kornienko, grew up playing tennis all over Southwest Florida. Mike has been playing tennis for over 20 years now and has coached from beginner to tour level players. Growing up in Florida allowed him to compete with some of the best players in the Nation. As a junior tennis player Mike was ranked in the top 100 in the state of Florida. After a hiatus from the competitive scene, his passion for the sport was reignited after college so he participated in multiple ATP Future events playing against top 500 in the world ATP players. Mike has won multiple National tournaments in Mixed doubles and now has found a new passion in coaching and molding the future of ECS tennis.

Outside of coaching the ECS Boys Tennis team Coach Mike can be found regularly participating in local exhibition events and occasionally competitive tournaments. He loves teaching the sport to all willing to give it a try and hopes to grow the passion for tennis at ECS. He is always willing to listen and help out any student in any way that he can on or off the court. He looks forward to seeing the new players develop every year and show them exactly what they can achieve if they commit themselves to a sport that they may not be all that familiar with.
