ECS, the ECS athletic department, and our Athletic Director, Scott Guttery, would like to thank Nicole Sams for coaching, mentoring, and inspiring our cheerleading program for the past six years. During her time the program grew to one of the most respected competitive & sideline teams in the state. She also established “The Landing,” the only on-site dedicated cheer facility for any school in SWFL. Thank you Coach Sams for all you have done for ECS, our cheer program, and the football/basketball programs! You helped foster a spirit of encouragement and serving across the ECS campus!
We are excited to announce our new head varsity cheerleading coach, Kelsey Allen. Kelsey Allen was born and raised in Cape Coral, Florida where she attended Cape Coral High School. She was a part of the varsity squad all four years and was Team Captain her senior year. She was also selected as the UCA top All- American her senior year. Kelsey was a competitive cheerleading for Paradise All Stars for five years. She attended Florida Gulf Coast University where she was on the All-Girl cheerleading team. Her senior year she was once again selected as Team Captain. Kelsey graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling at Nova Southeastern University.
Coach Allen was recently a gymnastics coach at Coast Elite Gymnastics Academy. This year, she served as an assistant coach for the cheer team and is also a Lower School teacher at ECS. Coach Allen not only wants to inspire these young ladies in cheerleading but she also wants to inspire them to follow Christ and work hard to reach their dreams. She hopes to direct their paths into becoming productive citizens in their community.
